Abacus Virtualization Solution Overview

Analyze

Abacus' experienced Professional Services team works closely with each client to analyze their current IT environment and discuss their business expectations and technical objectives to determine where it makes sense to leverage virtualization. As part of this phase, we examine and report on current performance data including utilization rates and existing server workloads.

Assess

Based on the findings of the analysis phase, we assess the customers key business drivers and critical performance data and provide detailed recommendations on which servers are viable candidates for virtualization. We also calculate potential ROI and document the potential advantages and savings to virtualization.

Architect & Design

Abacus custom-designs a total virtualization solution that reflects the goals and requirements identified in the assessment phase, utilizing established best practices and industry expertise. We provide a detailed plan and timeline outlining the specific servers to be virtualized and the overall design of the new environment.

Implement

Abacus Consulting team works closely with the customer to efficiently test, validate, configure, implement and integrate the new infrastructure design. We build a proof of concept pilot and test all aspects of the new design. Once validated, Abacus migrates the identified physical servers to the new virtualized infrastructure. We also verify that the newly delivered infrastructure meets the performance criteria established in the design phase and we performance tune as necessary.

Support

One of the key benefits Abacus provides is customized education and training on how to effectively manage and support the new virtualized infrastructure. If the client wishes to outsource the ongoing support and maintenance of their virtualized servers we also provide 24x7 x86-based hardware and software support services.
